Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is the product of excessive activity of the glands responsible for secreting sweat. Normally it is not a cause of excessive heat or exercise since this is also evident when the patient performs normal activities. It can affect the hands, feet, armpits, face among others. The Botox in this case is injected into the areas with hyperhidrosis to reduce sweating. The toxin acts by blocking the nerve signals responsible for the secretion of sweat and how the toxin is reabsorbed in an estimated time it is necessary to repeat after 4-6 months.

Procedure

During the treatment the patient will lay down on the medical chair as comfortable as possible. Anaesthesia is not normally used for toxin injection as it is not a significantly painful procedure. However, depending on the tolerance of the patient, an anaesthetic cream is applied before the procedure. After cleaning the area of the that will be treated, the points where the toxin will be injected are marked with a fine and delicate needle for the greatest possible comfort of the patient.

Aftercare and Results

The results can be seen after the third - fourth day, where more tension will be noticed at the beginning in the infiltrated areas and therefore it will be more difficult to form the wrinkle when contracting the muscles. They may appear "purple" and have some swelling, however this rarely occurs. After 15 days the toxin review will be carried out to correct the details and achieve the best possible result. The duration of the treatment varies between 4 - 6 months depending on the metabolism of each patient.
