What is PRP?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy uses injections of a concentration of a patients own plackets to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, muscles, joints, and hair loss. PRP is used as a treatment for hair loss as a result form androgenic alopecia - a condition that causes hair follicles to shrink. This technique can be used for both male and female population to stimulate the growth of hair. PRP treatment is usually combined with other medication to chase the results. After hair transplant PRP helps grafted hair grow stronger and better.

Procedure

During the treatment the patient will be as comfortable as possible and in a suitable clinical environment. Normally the area to be treated is anesthetized before proceeding with the infiltrations. After the extraction of the plasma and its appropriate centrifugation for the injected swer, it is injected into the area to be treated. The treatment lasts approximately 60 min and it is recommended as shock therapy, repeat the treatment 3 times, once a month each session.

Aftercare and Results

The results can be seen after a week with greater visibility per month. Remember that it is a regenerative treatment, therefore as the sessions are completed, an improvement will be seen in the scalp or in the skin depending on the case where it is injected. They may appear "bruises" and have inflammation. If this is the case, a home treatment for subsequent care will be recommended to the patient.
